Legislative Internships
The PSE Board has approved internship positions for the 60-day regular session of the Washington Legislature that begins in January. Selected interns are provided six days of hands-on political experience in Olympia with all travel and lodging expenses paid, as well as paid release time from work. Interns will work with the PSE Lobbyist and politically experienced members of the PSE Board and Legislative Council to help promote the PSE Legislative agenda and to learn grassroots citizen lobbying.
Applications may be obtained from your Chapter President or by visiting our forms library to download and print the appropriate applications from your personal computer. Remember to follow all instructions carefully and return the completed application to the PSE state office in Auburn (P. O. Box 798; Auburn, WA 98071) no later than the close of business on Nov. 2. Submission instructions and the appropriate mailing address are included in the application forms.
This is the 21st year of the PSE internship program - which is the only one of its kind. The session begins on Jan. 14, 2008, and runs for 60 consecutive days. All prospective interns must also commit to attend the 2008 PSE Legislative Conference on Jan. 20 and 21.
The Legislative Council will review all applications for internship positions and recommend candidates to the state board for their final consideration. Interns must agree to be available for any week they are needed as determined by the PSE Governmental Relations Director.
