PSE CLASSIFIED AWARDS

If you know someone you feel should be considered for recognition for their dedication and leadership, please take the time to nominate them for an award.

It’s easy to nominate a co-worker for a PSE award. Download the nomination form. Consult the appropriate criteria sheet. Complete the nomination form and submit the packet to the state office before the March 12 deadline.

** Note there is a separate nomination form for the Classified Employee of the Year.

The Awards Committee reviews all submissions and selects the award category that best fits the information you provide. Awards will be presented at PSE’s Annual Convention, July 23-25 at the Yakima Convention Center.

Entries must be submitted to the state office no later than MARCH 12 to be eligible.

CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEARRecognizes a member who has demonstrated outstanding work performance, shown dedication to students, and contributed to public education in exceptional ways. The person must have been a member of PSE for five (5) years and have a positive relationship with the union.  **Download separate nomination form for this award.

LIFE MEMBEROur most prestigious award, this is for an individual who has been an active PSE member for over 10 years and completed a lifetime of achievements making an outstanding contribution to the general welfare of classified school employees. This award requires at least three letters of nomination accompany the form. (Link to selection criteria)

LEGISLATIVE MEMBER OF THE YEAR Goes to a member who has exhibited political involvement, actively working with legislators for the betterment of classified personnel. (Link to selection criteria)

HIGHER EDUCATION AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTRecognizes a higher education member who has demonstrated excellent work performance, shown dedication to students and co-workers, and contributed to advancing the university’s mission. (Link to selection criteria)

HONORARY MEMBER OF THE YEARThese individuals are not PSE members, but have demonstrated concern for or aided classified school employees in a significant way. (Link to selection criteria)

PRESIDENT'S LEADERSHIP AWARDFor PSE leaders who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their local chapter or who have made special contributions to PSE members through their role in the chapter or on a state committee. (Link to selection criteria)

CERTIFICATE OF MERITAcknowledges members who have contributed to the district or school through their work as a union leader. Nominations may be made by either their peers or their supervisor.  (Link to selection criteria)
