Candidates for 2010 PSE Board of Director Elections

The candidates listed below have declared their intention to run for the following positions on the PSE Board of Directors at the Annual Convention in July. The positions of state President & Secretary are “at-large” positions and are voted on by all registered delegates. Balloting for Zone Director positions will take place during zone caucuses. Voting will take place on Saturday, July 24. Results will be announced prior to the Awards Banquet.

Judi Owens, Central Valley Chapter It has been my privilege to serve as your President since November 8, 2008. I would be honored to continue to represent the members of our union in that capacity.

  Secretary Candidate Reen Doser
Reen Doser, Lake Stevens Chapter I have chosen to give back to my union by serving you, the members of PSE. I believe in workers’ rights and livable wages and the effort that it takes to obtain them. I have dedicated time to promote classified workers in Olympia and within my school district as well as in Zone 11 as its Director.

Jeannie Gilbert, WWU Chapter I have been representing higher education as the zone 13 director for the past year and the decision to run for secretary was an interesting one. I have been a secretary on a non-profit board before and taking clear, concise notes is tougher than it looks.

Jacque Meddles, South Kitsap Chapter My name is Jacque Meddles and I am running for State Secretary. I am currently a secretary at a Junior High School in Port Orchard, have been involved with PSE for as long as I have worked for the District.

Charlotte Shindler, Rosalia Chapter My name is Charlotte Shindler; I am a paraeducator for the Rosalia School District. Serving on the Board has been of great learning experience for me about the organization. We are a member-driven union and that is very important to me. We are lucky to be members of such a strong union and we must maintain this strength.

Zone 4 Director
  Dave Munson
Dave Munson, East Valley Yakima Chapter It has been a great two years as your Zone 4 Director. I have learned a lot in this time. It has been nice to get out and meet all of you. In the past two years I have had the opportunity to be the chair for the Awards Committee, help select the OSPI Classified Employee of the Year, work on the financial review committee, and be on the 20/20 workgroup. WOW, a lot of wonderful experiences.

Annie Copeland, Yelm Chapter I am celebrating my 20th year with Yelm Community schools as the district technology support specialist. In November 2009, I was voted by the zone 6 council to serve as your director for the remainder of the previous zone 6 director’s unexpired term. In this short time, I have discovered how important PSE is to classified employees.

Deb Lewin, Wenatchee Association Chapter This past year has been an exciting and educational year for me representing our chapters and members at the state level for our zone. My qualifications include being an Advisory Board Member of the Clover Park Technical College Para Educator Program since 1995, Aberdeen Chapter Vice President for one year and Aberdeen Chapter President for six years.
